Habkern - with about 650 inhabitants and more than 60 farms - is located in the heart of the Bernese Oberland, above Interlaken at 1200m at the gates between Augstmatthorn and Hohgant, a unique cultural and natural landscape. The embedded moorland Habkern-Sörenberg is one of the most impressive and largest moorland areas in Switzerland. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau from the surrounding alpine meadows and discover the living traditions of a typical mountain village.
In addition to its magnificent nature and tranquility, our village has a heated swimming pool (open-air pool, open during the summer months), an idyllic sports field, a bakery with post office, a grocery store, a bank, various restaurants, a small but excellent skiing area, cross-county skiing trails, mountainbike, touring ski und snowshoe routes as well as an extensive network of mountain and winter hiking areas.
The city of Interlaken is only 15 minutes away by car and offers an almost unlimited range of outdoor possibilities. The large ski areas of the Jungfrauregion and the Schilthorn are only 40 minutes by car from the farm. In summer, the deep blue colors of Lake Brienz and Lake Thun invite you to dreamy boat trips, sailing, surfing and swimming adventures.
